 Photo Exhibition on Indian Tourism


Embassy of India in Tajikistan organized a three-day photo exhibition on Indian tourism from 25-27 March 2017 in Dushanbe. The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Somnath Ghosh, Ambassador of India to Tajikistan,  H.E. Mr. Nizomodin Zohidi, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Mr. Nazarzoda Rizo, Deputy Chairman of Committee of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tajikistan and   Ms. Manzura Akramovna, Deputy Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan.


2.       The exhibition showcased the tourism potential of various regions of India. It included the captivating pictures of beaches of Goa, historical monuments of Delhi, golden deserts of Rajasthan, Buddhist traditions of Ladakh, unique culture of Himachal Pradesh and serene backwaters of Kerala. The exhibition also provided a glimpse into colorful festivals of India.


3.       In his address at the inaugural ceremony Ambassador said that tourism was an important area of cooperation between India and Tajikistan. He pointed out that increasing number of patients from Tajikistan were visiting India for availing world class medical facilities. He added that the visas for Tajik tourists/patients are issued mostly within one day.


4.       In their speeches the Tajik guests of honour highlighted the initiatives taken by Tajik government for promotion of tourism in the country. They said that Tajikistan with its abundant natural beauty, snow-clad mountains and unparalled Tajik hospitality automatically makes for a great tourist destination. They expressed interest in welcoming increasing number of Indian tourists in Tajikistan.
